MADE IN ITALY 2.0 CONCERT IN CUNEO
Another performance of Verlingieri’s Benedicite Dominum for mixed choir
CUNEO (ITALY), MAY 2018. After the mini-tournée in Cote d’Azur (France), the Società Corale Città di Cuneo comes back in his hometown Cuneo (Piedmont, Northwestern Italy) to perform the Made in Italy 2.0 concert, a selection of Italian contemporary choral music from composers like Corrado Margutti, Giuseppe Di Bianco, Enrico Miaroma, Mauro Zuccante and the same Gianluca Verlingieri, under the baton of Giuseppe Cappotto (in the picture below). The event is scheduled for May 18th at 9PM at the San Giovanni concert hall in the heart of the historical centre of Cuneo. Benedecite Dominum, Verlingieri’s 8 voices a cappella piece, was written in 2011 as a commission of the same Società Corale Città di Cuneo for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. This program will feature also arrangements for mixed choir of traditional tunes from several Italian regions, like the Sicilian E si fussi pisci, one of Luciano Berio’s favorite folk songs, here performed in his own arrangement.
