Benedicite Dominum for 8 mixed voices performed in Hyères, Cote d’Azur

On April 29th (6:30 PM) at the St. Louis Church and on 30th at the Anglican Church always at 6:30 PM, in the beautiful city of Hyères, Cote d’Azur (France), the choir Società Corale Città di Cuneo conducted by Giuseppe Cappotto will perform Verlingieri’s Benedicite Dominum for 8 mixed voices. The piece was written in 2011 in the framework of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy under commission of the same Società Corale Città di Cuneo, which premiered it in June 2011 at Cuneo Cathedral and later in Turin, the first capital city of the united Italy. Besides Verlingieri’s work, the two concerts of the French tournée of the choir, titled Made in Italy 2.0, will include a selection of Italian contemporary music for a cappella choir, by composers like Corrado Margutti, Mauro Zuccante, Giuseppe Di Bianco, Enrico Miaroma, as well as arrangements for mixed choir of traditional tunes from several Italian regions, like the Sicilian E si fussi pisci, one of Luciano Berio’s favorite folk songs, here performed in his own arrangement.
